Tips and troubleshooting

Practical tips for better results, and what to do when something doesn’t work as expected.

Tips to improve marketing copy with CopyZap

  • Answer two or three Make it stronger questions. A real price, a result with a number or a clear next step gives the new versions what no rewrite can invent. Use Use this when your page already has the answer.
  • Be specific in “For”. “Owners of restaurants and cafés with 5–30 staff” gives sharper copy than “businesses”.
  • Run the whole page. To improve marketing copy as a whole, give CopyZap all of it. Scoring sees how the parts work together; a single paragraph out of context scores differently.
  • Keep what isn't yours to change. Testimonials, legal text and agreed prices belong on Keep as is.
  • Leave out navigation and footers. Menus, cookie notices and footer links aren't copy — set them to Leave out or delete them before you continue.
  • Check every claim. Read Check before publishing before anything goes live.
  • Write for people first. Google's own guide to creating helpful, reliable content is a good checklist for any page you rewrite.
  • Check before you send. Run Check with another AI on the version you plan to send to a client, and keep its answer for the meeting.
  • Use the score honestly. If the best version is “about the same” as the original, the original is already good — tell your client so.

If something goes wrong

The page can't be fetched

Some sites block automatic reading, or need a login. Open the page in your browser, copy the text and paste it into Your copy.

The page is longer than 5,000 words

A page of up to 10,000 words can be brought in when it has headings. On the check screen, set parts to Leave out until 5,000 words or fewer are in use, and run the rest separately. A long text without headings has to be shortened first. Delete anything that isn't copy (menus, long legal text).

“Paste at least 3” words

CopyZap needs at least 3 words. For a single word or a name, write it into a short line first, for example a slogan.

The same copy scores a little differently each time

That's normal for AI scoring. It's why CopyZap scores a version three times and uses the middle score whenever it's close to another, and why gaps of 3 points or less count as “about the same”. Two runs on the same page can also land a few points apart.

Make it stronger asks about something I don't have

Click Skip. Never make up an answer: whatever you write goes into the copy. If none of the questions fit, click Done, or just generate.

No “Your page already says” appears

Your page doesn't hold an answer to that question, or the check took too long. Answer in your own words or skip.

I answered the questions, but the score barely moved

That happens when the copy was already strong, or when the facts don't touch what the scorer marked as weak. Read the Why this version notes for the weakest part, and check that your facts are specific (a number, a price, a clear next step). A result that's “about the same” is an honest answer, not a failure.

I don't see “Make it stronger and run again”

The card appears only after a run made without facts, when CopyZap found questions for the copy. It doesn't appear on a result opened from History. You can always click Start over and answer the questions on the check screen.

The run stopped or the tab was closed

Open History. If the run finished, it's there. If not, start it again.
