Project Setup Guide
TL;DR
Every input field affects your output. Learn what each setting does, when to use it, and how to configure Copy Maker for optimal results across different content types.
AI Model Selection
The AI model is the "brain" behind your content generation. Different models have different strengths, costs, and output characteristics.
Model Validation & Smart Fallback
CopyZap features intelligent model validation and automatic fallback to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
- Automatic Validation: When you select a model, the system validates it's properly configured
- Generation Fallback: If your selected model fails during generation (expired key, rate limit, etc.), the system automatically opens a model selection modal
- Available Alternatives: The modal shows all currently working models with availability status
- One-Click Switch: Select any available model to continue immediately without losing your inputs
Smart Fallback: If Claude isn't available, instantly switch to GPT-4o or another working model without restarting your generation.

Core Input Fields
These fields define what you are creating and how the AI should approach it.
Make New Copy vs Improve Existing Copy
This is the fundamental choice that determines how the AI behaves.
Make New Copy
- • Creates content from scratch
- • Primary input: Business Description
- • Focuses on originality and creativity
Improve Existing Copy
- • Enhances current text
- • Primary input: Original Copy
- • Preserves core message while improving
Project Description
What it does: Gives the AI high-level context about what you are working on.
Length: 10-30 words
Examples:
- ✓ "Homepage for a meal delivery service targeting busy professionals"
- ✓ "Product page for noise-cancelling headphones"
- ✓ "Email sequence for abandoned cart recovery"
Business Description (Make New Copy mode)
What it does: This is your primary content input when creating new copy. The foundation of your generated content.
Length: 100-300 words works well
Best Practices:
- • Include what you do, who it's for, and why it matters
- • Mention key differentiators
- • Add specific benefits or results if available
Target Audience
What it does: Defines who will read this content. Dramatically changes language complexity, tone, and pain points addressed.
Good Examples:
- ✓ "CTOs at mid-sized tech companies (50-500 employees)"
- ✓ "First-time home buyers aged 25-35"
- ✓ "Small business owners with no marketing experience"
Bad Examples:
- ✗ "Everyone"
- ✗ "General public"
- ✗ "People who need this"
Key Message
What it does: The single most important point you want to communicate. Ensures the AI keeps circling back to this central idea.
Make it specific and concrete:
- ✓ "You can save 10 hours per week on project administration"
- ✓ "Our headphones deliver studio-quality sound at half the price"
- ✗ "We're the best option" (too vague)
